Like-Minded Business Owners

Surround yourself with business owners who made the same choice as you, to stay solo, remain small, and build businesses around their lives.

Think Big, Stay Small

If for you, success means building a solo business that supports the life you want, welcome! This community gets that you're not playing small, you're staying strategically small.

There’s a lot of pressure in business communities to scale, hire a team, and grow an agency. There’s also a whole lot of messaging out there that makes it seem like if you’re not scaling, you’re failing. It’s gross. It’s also dead wrong.

20 years running my own business has taught me that staying small isn’t thinking small, and it doesn’t have to mean small reach, impact, revenue, or profit margins.

Staying small gives you the ability to do business the way it works for you, and change it up any time you need to. And that’s what I’ve done since the day I quit my job and started my business.

  • I started as a freelancer, working solo and hired subcontractors to meet demand and expand my capacity.
  • My husband quit his cushy job to work with me full-time and we kept growing. We hired employees and grew to a team of five because that’s what you’re “supposed to do.”
  • That business wasn’t aligned with the life we wanted, so we went back to just the two of us, running a micro agency and partnering with specialty contractors when needed. Fun fact: The smaller we were, the more profitable we were.
  • Later, when we wanted different things professionally, we divested our careers and I became a solopreneur once again.
  • Eventually, I simplified by business, turned it into a side hustle, and joined Motivation Code as Chief Marketing Officer to work with my best friends.
  • I also doubled down on my courses and memberships, helping other freelancers build successful, profitable, joyful, sustainable businesses.

And now, here I am ready to support you too. Best. Decision. Ever.

Going solo, staying small, and running a company of one is a strategy that can be highly flexible and lucrative. What I love is that there is no one right way to start, build, or run a business.

The freedom to do things your way, break the rules, experiment, change direction, work as much as you want with who you want, and align everything you do with your capacity and definition of success is a superpower, not a limitation.

Freelancing can be nerve-wracking!

All the decisions, all the pressure, it’s all on you. And even when you’re killing it for your clients, it’s easy to feel uncertain in your own business. I mean, you can be a total badass at what you do, and still get stuck in your own head and get in your own way.

It happens to everyone, no matter how skilled or experienced they are, especially when working solo. Plus, you don’t know what you don’t know — and you shouldn’t be expected to know everything anyway!

That’s why community is so important!

Finding other people also running solo businesses to talk shop and swap stories with makes such a huge difference.

For me, investing in mastermind groups, conferences, retreats, community memberships, workshops, and business training programs is as much about connecting with the other freelancers, solopreneurs, and small business owners in those communities and programs, as the content being shared, if not more important!

And after 8 years of running memberships, courses, coaching programs, workshops, and events, and reading all the feedback surveys, one thing is clear…

Freelancers crave community!

All the freelancers I know want to meet and connect with other freelancers and business owners, and they love coming together for live sessions and shared experiences.

Maybe that’s true for you, too? I know it’s true for me!

I LOVE live Q&A, coaching, and workshops. Connecting with freelancers and seeing their aha moments and transformations are what inspired me to bring all of my business training courses, resources, coaching, and consulting under one roof and build the Business Your Way community.

My goals?

  • Share everything I have learned and everything I’m still learning with you.
  • Give you access to tools, templates, and resources I created and use in my own business.
  • Help you connect with potential partners, referral sources, and clients.

And that last one is HUGE!

If that sounds good to you, and you are looking for a supportive community where you can learn, grow, network, and get the help you need to build the business you want…
